MS. CROSBY'S HOMEWORK/ASSIGNMENTS

Week of May 10 through May 14:
Written homework has been very limited last week and this week due to students working on projects.

Latin American projects are due this Friday.  Parents, please remember to bring/send your dish.  I hope that we will have many parents coming to join us in our Fiesta lunch at noon Friday.  Any parent who wishes to come early and help organize the Fiesta pavilion is most welcome!

Exams are next week.  The Latin American project counts as two exam grades: English and social studies.  6C spelling exam will cover the words in the review unit #30 (units 25-29).
Monday - spelling p 192
Tues. - p193
Wed. - p194
Thurs. - p195

The reading exam will cover the following skills: identifying base words with two or more affixes, using context clues, author's purpose and point of view, infer main idea, identify cause-and-effect, interpret graphic aids (bar, line, circle), and interpret diagrams.

Students should have all at-home English textbooks, old social studies books, and vocabulary workshop books turned in at this time.  We are still missing some books, so please check your homes.

All library books, school and classroom, are to be turned in by next Friday, May 21.  May 20 is the last day for 6th grade AR points.  Please check your homes for classroom and school library books as many of our books "walk" and never return.  Thank you!

****Latin American Festival is Friday, May 14th from 9:00 until after lunch (1:30 ish).  We will eat at high noon!  If you have a folding table we may borrow for the Fiesta! and for putting student projects on, please bring them that morning to the pavilions.
REMEMBER that parents are given the assignment of preparing a dish that represents the country their child is researching - parents may "fudge" a bit on this - students may not! :o)  We would love to have all the 6th grade parents come eat lunch with us this day.  Consider yourselves cordially invited.
